In conjunction with the opening of our exhibit, Freedom Tales, the Art and Stories of Faith Ringgold, Dr. Linda H Humes and saxaphonist Bradford Hayes present A Tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and His Times. Through storytelling, music, song and games this show highlights the values, goals and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement.

Coconut Callaloo Collards and Curry Too! A Celebration of Caribbean Culture is a storytelling program so delightful you can almost taste it. Taking its name from a variety of foods familiar from places in the Americas, the Caribbean and Africa. Storytelling, songs, poems,music and movement, engage audiences with welcomed participation. Learning about and making cultural connections through common life experiences are the tasty rewards. American Sign Language interpretation inspires beautiful participatory language expressions. Featuring: Malika Lee Whitney, Sharon Gordon and Jahlani Andrew Roberts.
Presented in tribute to Honorable Louise Bennett-Coverley (1919-2006), the world renown Jamaican folklorist, poet, actress, writer, author, educator and television host.
