Skysoul is a multi-mobile and floor vinyl installation that fills the Skylight Gallery. Ros’ colorful hybrid creatures, a combination of printmaking and paper sculptures, expresses the beauty and strength of the human spirit, tenacity and determination.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Moses Ros is Dominican-American sculptor, painter, and printmaker. Highly influenced by his direct contact with both Caribbean culture and New York City Street culture, his creative sources are gathered from urban pop culture, graphic abstract symbolism, and life memories.

The formal aspect of his work is a colorful synthesis of playful approaches to languages (Spanish and English) that best represent his Latino and Dominican-York heritage.

Ros’s body of work combines his printing expertise with a delight in sculpture and movement and a joyful approach to life. His artworks are quick and dynamic assemblages made with simple materials. By combining forms and fusions of imaginary creatures, he seeks to free the interpretation, contrasts, dualisms, and paradoxes present in the Latino experience of New York City.
