CAMP! at the Sugar Hill Children's Museum of Art and Storytelling is back for Spring!
Join our Teaching Artists as we explore how to express ourselves and our thoughts through movement.
Spring Recess Camp is built around the children’s book, José! Born to Dance, written by Susanna Reich and illustrated by Raul Colon, and based on the life of the acclaimed dance artist, José Limón. Workshops will focus on building with paper maché and enjoying dramatic play, as campers create their own unique characters, giving them narrative and using movement to express their stories.
The final day of camp will feature musical performances by Young Audiences at the Museum, followed by a trip to Dance Theatre of Harlem (3 blocks away) to see a special performance by the José Limón Dance Company.
